Puskat Audio Visual Studio in Yogyakarta, Indonesia recently released a
video entitled "Pathway to Peace" directed by Fr. Yoseph Iswarahadi, SJ.
The message of the video, which targets primarily young people, is that all
religions fundamentally seek unity and harmony, and that gentleness is
needed to communicate among people of different creeds.  The production, using a magazine format, includes a musical drama based on an ancient Borubudur temple relief.

Scholastic Dominique Kim, SJ, now studying film in Seoul, will produce a DVD
commemorating 50 years of Jesuit ministry in Korea.

"Renlai," the Chinese language monthly magazine of cultural, social and
religious issues published by the Taipei Ricci Institute, celebrated its
First Anniversary on January 7th.  Publisher Jacques Duraud, SJ and Editor
Benoit Vermander, SJ hosted a reception centered on the theme of their
anniversary publication--an Yi minority tribe in the remote mountains of
Sichuan, China as a perspective for viewing globalization.

Taipei's Kuangchi Program Service is broadcasting its second TV series aimed
at assisting Taiwan's growing number of foreign spouses.  There are now over
300,000 women in Taiwan from Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and other Asian
countries that have been "purchased" and married to Taiwanese men.  The TV
series, co-hosted by women from these countries, introduces viewers to
Taiwanese language and culture, gives advice on how to cope with common
problems, and provides contact numbers of organizations that can provide
needed assistance.  The current series is broadcast on weekends over China
Televisions Service's (CTS) Educational Channel and re-broadcast several
times a week over Taipei County's Public Service Channel.  Kuangchi is also
cooperating on an educational series for Taiwan's new Indigenous People's TV
Channel.

International Group in Rome.  The meeting's main focus was the use of the
internet and websites for improved communication among ourselves and with
specific publics or virtual communities.  JESCOM Secretary Tom Rochford, SJ
participated in the meeting.  All are invited to visit and the very useful
website for Jesuit contacts and information:
www.sjweb.info  You may
register and gain access to the "Ad Usum Nostrorum" section reserved for
Jesuits, and participate in or begin a group where particular Jesuit
concerns can be discussed worldwide.

JESCOMEAO Special Assistant, Mr. Augustine Loorthusamy, attended the JESCOM South Asia meeting in Secunderabad, India.  His contribution was deeply appreciated, and his participation signified solidarity with Jesuits of the
East Asia and Oceania Assistancy.  Follow-up will include cooperation in
communications training in Jesuit houses of formation in South Asia.
